Having been raised by a single mother and now as a business owner and family man, I understand the clients we serve.

Michael S. Caprai, AIF®

Financial Consultant, Lead Advisor

Michael is the founder and managing member of Green Leaf Financial Consulting, LLC, and has more than 30 years of experience in business and business management. His passion for helping people was realized early in life. Having watched his mother struggle through raising five boys on her own with nowhere to turn for honest financial guidance, Michael doesn’t want others to have to go through what he and his family endured. This experience drove him to specialize in financial planning and investment management for women, families, and business owners. Now, as a business owner himself, serving clients in the Pacific Northwest, he understands what goes into balancing the responsibility of running a business with family life, all while hoping to secure a meaningful legacy.

It was during his successful real estate career that Michael recognized he was limited in his ability to help people, so, in 1998, he entered the financial planning and investment management business. He learned from some of the best during his tenure with Merrill Lynch and Smith Barney, a member of Citigroup. Michael has been using his life experience and his financial planning experience throughout the last 21 years to help clients navigate through major recessions and market downturns. In 2003, Michael left the confines of the large brokerage firms and partnered with Commonwealth Financial Network®, an independent Register Investment Adviser–broker/dealer, and established Green Leaf Financial Consulting, LLC.

Michael is not only devoted to his family and clients but to his community. He has served on several nonprofit boards over the years and provides training to nonprofit boards in legacy planning and donor relations strategies. Michael has been extensively involved at his children’s schools, serving on boards and committees to improve and enhance the students’ educational experience. Additionally, he has served as an honorary chairman for the National Business Advisory Council and on the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce Local Government Affairs and Economic Development councils.

Giving back is important to Michael, so when asked, he agreed to teach a Practical Wealth Management class at the University of Oregon Lundquist School of Business to MBA and MSA graduate students. Michael strives to impart education to these students regarding the difference between product sales and true consulting in the investment and financial planning arena.

In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife, Tiffany. They love creating meals, cooking and serving them to family and friends. He also enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including, tennis, hiking, backpacking, and boating in the Great Northwest, as well as fly-fishing in Oregon and Montana. Michael has been involved in youth athletics and coaching (tackle football and track) for more than 30 years. Michael lives in Eugene with his wife, who owns and operates her own business as an independent mortgage broker.

Sharon R. Boyd

Client Service Manager

Sharon joined the Green Leaf Financial Consulting team in 2019 as our client service manager. She brought with her 30 years of world-class customer service experience in multiple fields: financial investment services, health provider services, and mass transit operations support.

Sharon’s experience in working with various broker/dealers—Locust Street Securities, LPL Financial, Berthel Fisher, and, now, Commonwealth Financial Network®—allowed her to accumulate 10 years of experience in financial investment processing and 3 years in compliance reviewing support under an OSJ (securities supervisory manager) and demonstrate her strong qualifications for the intensive, detailed work required in supporting the firm's operations and its managing member, Michael Caprai. She has been instrumental in supporting the success of the advisors she has worked for and the clients she has served and continues to do so in her current position with Green Leaf Financial Consulting.

Sharon is passionate about and demonstrates vital personal and professional relationship-building skills through trust and respect. She is quoted as saying, “Developing strong relationships is the foundation of everything I do professionally and personally." Her high attention to detail while multitasking does not get in the way of her unique ability to help clients, colleagues, and staff feel welcomed, honored, important, and cared for.

She is a lifelong learner and continually seeks to improve and gain more knowledge, and desired skill sets, to provide world-class service to the Green Leaf Financial Consulting team, family, friends, and clients.

Sharon loves spending time with her family, friends, and pets. Her interests include outdoor activities, camping, gardening, target shooting, antiques, nutritional healing, genealogy, and Alzheimer’s research.

David B. Caprai

Client Service and Operations Consultant

Dave started with Green Leaf Financial Consulting as a client service manager in 2012. He brought with him business management skills from years of working in retail management and from managing all aspects of running a church as a senior pastor. These administrative and life experiences have equipped Dave with a unique set of talents, where he passionately demonstrates strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

As client service manager, Dave learned the ins and outs of operations in the financial planning and investment management industry. This experience coupled with his life skills have allowed him to excel as Green Leaf Financial Consulting's client service and operations consultant, where he assists Michael Caprai, the founder and managing member of the firm, in building a firm primarily focused on serving our clients.

In his free time, Dave runs the Bible college at his church. He loves bike riding and spending time with his family. He has two grown sons and is a grandad. He loves to dote over his adorable little granddaughter.
